Nearly, 2,000 people have been attracted by the Peruvian gastronomy, since PromPeru and the Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry began to carry out Peruvian cuisine promotion activities in the framework of Expo in Cittá.

The participation is supported by Peru's Milan-based Commercial Office (OCEX).

The complementary activity was introduced by the Milan municipality and is carried out in the surroundings of the "Expo Milano 2015" fair currently underway in the European city.

Over one tonne of high-quality ingredients were shipped from Peru. This enables to ensure the traditional and extraordinary flavor of dishes offered to Milanese people at "Daniel", the Italian restaurant owned by recognized chef Daniel Canzian, which will be the meeting point for Peruvian cuisine-loving diners thru September.

Some of the main ingredients are lemon, corn, chifles (banana chips), sweet potato chips, native potato, yellow pepper sauce and pink Maras salt. National dishes, prepared by Peruvian cooks also feature quinoa, yucca and camu camu (products from the Peruvian Amazon), as well as fish.

It must be noted officials of Peruvian-food exporting enterprises, such as: Aliper, Finestra sul Cielo, Altromercato, ICAM and Slow Food International, participate in the tasting sessions, as do journalists, Peruvian citizens and organizations, such as Lide group.
