Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva welcomed the recognition received by nine Peruvian enterprises at Superior Taste Award 2016 contest, organized by the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi).

Companies Coca-Cola Peru, Agricola Viña Vieja Santa Isabel, Backus & Johnston, San Roque, Merger Industries, ISM Group, Yura, Danper Trujillo and Cartavio received a special certification, as award, for having successfully passed quality tests over one year.

Quinoa and wheat-made beers, King Kong milk candy, San Luis mineral water, Yura mineral sparkling water, Kola Escocesa, Finca Rotondo Quebranta Pisco, architoke-made dip and Cartavio Rum were recognized.

"This recognition [...] can become a powerful marketing tool for enterprises and facilitate exports promotion and entry into European, American and Asian markets," Minister Silva stressed.

As is known, Brussels-based Trade Office (OCEX) supported the participation of iTQi representatives at Expoalimentaria Fair 2015.

The prestigious contest's certification was awarded during a ceremony held at exclusive Cercle Royal Gaulois facilities.

Since 2005, iTQi organizes the international contest, included in the prestigious Michelin Guide for food and beverages.

Considered products —1,000 per edition— do not compete each other, but are individually tested under criteria such as first impression, appearance, smell, texture, taste and aftertaste.
