on Tuesday morning claimed a gold medal at the Valledupar 2022 Bolivarian Games, which take place in Colombia, by winning the half marathon (1:15:13.86).
Peru has so far won 32 gold, 35 silver, and 67 bronze medals at the current event.
Peru became champion during the first three Bolivarian Games (1938, 1948, and 1951). Then, in the following 13 Games, Venezuela was crowned in first place.
In 2013 and 2017 Colombia claimed the first spot, and it currently leads the medal table.
Historically speaking in this sense, Peru —after the emergence of Venezuela and Colombia— occasionally occupied the third place, as well as the fourth and fifth positions lately.
