The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday affirmed that his administration acts transparently, as well as stands up for people's health, education, and development.

It is a category II hospital to be executed under the Works for Taxes scheme, in alliance with Antamina mining company. It entails an investment worth more than S/192 million (over US$50 million) and is expected to benefit at least 102,000 inhabitants.

The hospital will host 37 hospital beds, 5 Intermediate Care Unit beds, 6 cribs, 15 offices, an operating room, and a delivery room.

During his speech, the Head of State once again highlighted the educational model and the frontal fight against corruption in Singapore, saying that "we will bring these models" to Peru.

Within this framework, the top official pointed out that the people must punish whoever is corrupt, lazy, and a liar.

Likewise, Mr. Castillo highlighted the modality by which the hospital will be built and stressed the importance of executing the entire amount allocated for such purpose.

While arguing that the practice of company representatives who sit down to negotiate public works with authorities should be ended, he said it is the fear of those who —due to the popular will— lost the elections "because they know that we will review the contracts so that cents are (even) invested in (public) works."

"I am not in favor of laying the first stone, but the last of the work, and that is why every cent of the S/192 million must be invested. I will follow up on the case and call on the population to remain vigilant," he stated.

The Head of State noted that, given its category, "this hospital will rely on sufficient care equipment and beds. Yet it must also have suitable and skilled personnel to serve the population."

In this sense, Mr. Castillo affirmed that hospitals' doors must remain open 24/7.
