Peru's total population includes 9,652,000 girls, boys and teenagers,
National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported on Wednesday.
According to INEI estimates, as of June 30 this year, out of the total girls, boys, and teenagers in the Inca country, 50.5% (4,878,000) are males and 49.5% (4,774,000) females.
Moreover, 34.2% (3,301,000) of individuals in this population are aged between 0 and 5 years, 33.4% (3,221,000) between 6 and 11, and 32.4% (3,130,000) between 12 and 17.
On the other hand, 85.7% of those aged 0-17 enrolled in a health insurance plan between January and June this year.
When considering the place of residence, the rural sector had the highest health insurance coverage, with 91.8% of individuals in this age group having access to such service, compared to those living in urban areas (83.3%).
