Peru's Economy and Finance Minister Oscar Graham is participating at the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, where he took part in a session that addressed price shocks that have affected key inputs and goods in the economy, such as oil, fertilizers, and food.

Also participating in the session "Absorbing the Commodity Shock" were Anil Agarwal, executive chairman at Vedanta Resources Plc; Arancha Gonzalez Laya, dean at the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA); Benedikt Sobotka, chief executive officer at Eurasian Resources Group Sàrl; and Muhammad Lutfi, Indonesia's Trade Minister.

The participants discussed price shocks, which have affected key inputs and goods in the economy, as well as the need to take measures to cushion their impact.

Global leaders

Likewise, Graham will attend various high-level meetings to discuss current international issues such as the "Informal Meeting of Global Economic Leaders: Preventing a New Recession," as well as discussion groups such as "Accelerating Digital Transformation in Latin America" and "Broadening the Horizons for Economic Partnerships between the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region," among others.

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2022 is centered around the theme "History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies." It happens at the most consequential geopolitical and geo-economic moment of the past three decades and against the backdrop of a once-in-a-century pandemic.

Leaders will address urgent humanitarian and security challenges as they simultaneously advance long-standing economic, environmental and societal priorities —all while reinforcing the foundations of a stable global system.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the meeting —held in the city of Davos, Switzerland— will provide a platform for leaders to exchange views, explore new perspectives, and make progress on solutions.

Minister Graham is part of the Peruvian delegation participating in this annual meeting —to be held on May 24-25— which is headed by Vice-President of the Republic Dina Boluarte and includes Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa.
