Evaporated milk exports from Peru amounted to US$ 105 million in 2012, a 12.6 percent higher with respect to the previous year, Scotiabank said Sunday.
The shipments went to 55 countries and the main destination exports were Haiti, which accounts for 42 percent of the total, Bolivia (5.1 percent), Bahamas (5.1 percent), according to statistics of Peru's Foreign Trade Society (ComexPeru)
It was followed by Libia (4.8 percent), Gambia (4.7 percent) and Puerto Rico (3.7 percent) among others.
The main exporting companies were Gloria with 85 percent of export value, followed by Nestlé Peru with 15 percent, said the bank's Weekly Report.
On the other hand, imports of powdered milk main imported input of the industry in 2012 reached a volume of 47,000 MT, higher by 118 percent from 2011.
