Peru's tourism sector generated revenue worth US$3.832 billion in 2014 and consolidated as the second income-generating source on the non-traditional sphere, Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister (Mincetur) Magali Silva affirmed.
“This sector holds the second position […],” Silva told.
“The ranking is led by agro-exports, which reached US$4.200 billion in 2014," she added while presenting the “Foreign Tourist Profile 2014” report.
The Minister went on to add tourism is one of the sectors, which maintains a sustainable growth rhythm that contributes 4 percentage points to national Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
It should be noted tourism-related incoming currency flows generated revenue worth US$3.832 billion last year, a 5.25% increase compared to the same period in 2013 (US$ 3.641 billion).
