08:08 | Lima, Dec. 2.

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) has determined to extend from December 01 to December 31, 2021, the suspension of passenger flights from the Republic of South Africa to Peru so as to prevent the spread of the new COVID-19 variant.

This was provided by Ministerial Resolution No. 1257-2021-MTC/01 published Wednesday in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The rule states that the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics supported and proposed extending the suspension of flights from the Republic of South Africa in response to the state of global pandemic, as well as the appearance of a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

In this sense, the MTC approved the aforementioned extension, meaning the suspension of passenger flights from the Republic of South Africa.

This Ministerial Resolution was published on the official website of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications on the same day of its publication in the official gazette.
