WHO affirmed that COVID-19 has proven that some people can live healthier lives and have better access to health services than others due to the conditions in which they are born, grow, live, work, and grow old.
According to the institution, this is not only unfair but also avoidable. Thus, the
WHO asked leaders to guarantee that mankind can rely on living and working conditions which favor good health.
At the same time, it urged them to monitor health inequalities and ensure that all citizens can access high-quality health services whenever and wherever people need them.
