Peru President receives report on natural disaster-stricken areas

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Sunday morning received a technical report on aid provided to areas affected by heavy rains, landslides and floods, issued by National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) specialists.

The Inca nation has been at the mercy of several landslides over the past weeks, as a result of downpours overflowing rivers in different regions.

Based on the said information, the Executive Power will continue taking immediate actions to tackle emergency and assist people affected by the onslaughts of nature.

The event took place on Sunday morning at Lima-based Defense Ministry headquarters. 

The gathering also saw the presence of Prime Minister Fernando Zavala, Ministers Martin Vizcarra (Transport and Communications), Jorge Nieto (Defense), Marilu Martens (Education), Ana Maria Romero-Lozada (Women and Vulnerable Populations) and Jose Hernandez (Agriculture and Irrigation), among others.
