Peru President opens 4th Social Inclusion Week

13:11 | Lima, Oct. 19.

Peruvian President Ollanta Humala inaugurated the 4th Social Inclusion Week held at Lima Convention Center.

The opening ceremony was attended by national, international authorities, academicians and civil society representatives who will share their experiences during the current week.

The event is celebrated once a year since the Development and Social Inclusion Ministry (Midis) was launched on October 20, 2011.

It is aimed at analyzing international and national experiences to tackle inequality, poverty and close gaps in access to services, among other issues.

The 4th Social Inclusion Week will highlight the policy implementation process related to the "Include to Grow" National Development and Social Inclusion Strategy, which articulates efforts undertaken by intergovernmental, as well as intersectoral organizations and operates in five strategic areas.

These actions are intended to achieve concrete results.

A series of presentations, lectures, roundtables, as well as a fair will be held every day.
