The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday handed over more than 240,000 doses of vaccine to Cajamarca region, within the framework of the Government's decentralized actions to combat COVID-19, as well as strengthen the health and immunization system.

To date, more than 967,000 vaccines have been brought to the northern Andean region.

For this month, the shipment of 927,000 doses is planned —of which 288,000 have already been delivered.

The Head of State was joined by Health Minister Hernando Cevallos on this occasion.

Mr. Castillo, who has been visiting his hometown region since last weekend, fulfilled a series of activities in that area last Monday.
