Peru: Lima to host LatAm Amateur Golf Championship in 2021

13:24 | Lima, Jan. 20.

The seventh edition of the golf tournament known as Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) will be held in the Peruvian capital city of Lima on January 14-17, 2021.

After having successfully organized the Lima 2019 Pan and Parapan American Games, as well as the Copa Libertadores final, Lima is once again hosting an international competition.

"We are very happy about the election of Lima. It has been an arduous but quiet work. Five years have passed since we told the LAAC organizers about the intention of our country to host this important international tournament. Now, we only have to keep working to continue with the success of this event in our region," Peruvian Golf Federation Board member Martin Alarco stressed.

It should be noted Peru will be the sixth country to host this regional tournament.

Finally, the winner will automatically qualify for The 149th Open at Royal St George's and also receive full exemptions into The Amateur Championship, U.S. Amateur Championship, and any other USGA amateur championship.

The event will be held at Lima Golf Club on January 14-17, 2021.
