The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation (APCI) facilitated a donation from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in favor of the Regional Government of Lima.

The donation consisted of 100 thermometers, 100 oximeters, and 1,760 disposable face masks.

This contribution will be geared towards implementing the intervention plan known as "Community Health Guardians in Lima Region."

It will prioritize the primary care level with the participation of community health agents, in order to detect possible COVID-19 infections in the population of Lima region, including Venezuelan refugees and migrants.

In August 2020, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement that would allow the improvement of 137 health establishments and the strengthening of primary care for the benefit of indigenous populations in San Martin and Ucayali regions, which are fighting against the pandemic.
