Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) has revealed that the South American country is participating as guest of honor at Omnivore Food Festival and Paris Coffee Show, events that take place from September 11 to 13 in Paris, France.

At Omnivore, Peru is displayed at an impressive pavilion under the umbrella of the Super Foods Peru brand, where several activities are held, such as a presentation of superfoods, conferences, masterclasses, and an exhibition of Peruvian dances, among other things.

As part of the festival, PromPeru's Trade Office in France has encouraged renowned Peruvian cooks to give lectures and conferences at different venues throughout the event.

Peru is represented by Pia Leon, winner of the 2019 Best Chef Rising Star Award; Virgilio Martinez, chef of Central, which ranked sixth in The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2019 list; and Aaron Diaz, a decorated Peruvian mixologist and owner of Carnaval, one of the best bars in the world.

In addition, Carlos Camino —owner of Miraflores and Yka Bar, located in Lyon, France, winner of a Michelin star— will offer an exhibit about producers and the Peruvian producers with whom he works.

Pisco, quinoa, ajies (Peruvian hot peppers), sacha inchi, maca, Maras salt, purple corn, among other super foods, are displayed by 17 importers who work with about 50 Peruvian export firms.

Allpampa, Amazon Andino, Latino Market, El Inti, Guayapi, La Casa Peruana, Marussia, Mezcal Brothers, Pardella Spirits, Spirit Latin Pisco, Sovex, Shanantina Francia, Sol Semilla, Tolentino Trading, Tumi De Oro, and Ceviche Frachise are exhibiting in the Peruvian pavilion, located in the central area of the festival site.

Peru is also present in the 'Corners Chefs' area, with restaurant license holders belonging to the Peru Brand.

Peruvian coffee

Peru is also showing why it is one of the best coffee producing countries in the world at the Paris Coffee Show, the largest coffee event in France organized by the French Coffee Federation.

In order to cement the position of the brand Coffees from Peru, the Peruvian stand features two Peruvian cooperatives, Northern Piura region's NorAndino and Ecoforest from Jaen, as well as three French firms that import Peruvian coffee.
