A new generation of promising Peruvian athletes is enhancing the daily training with increased budgets allocated for all sporting federation in the country, Peru’s Sports Institute (IPD) has announced.
“Budgets for all federations have increased with the goal of meeting the competitiveness of our first Olympic cycle, which are make up by the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and the 2019 Pan American Games,” IPD’s President, Franciso Boza, said.
Moreover, Boza noted as an example the successful performance of the Peruvian sport shooter Nicolas Pacheco last year, who was recently named the Andean nation’s
best athlete for 2013.
“Nicolas is a very-talented athlete who will give honor to his country by winning medals at major international events such as Rio 2016 and, later, at Tokio 2020,” the sports leader noted.
With this award, the 19-year-old shooter will kick off highly athletic training regime of more than three hours a day for taking home medals and reaching the podiums at world and Olympic events.
