Peru also expressed greetings and congratulations to the Japanese people and Government for the recent enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.

Within this framework, the Peruvian Government ratified its commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations also uniting both nations.

Emperor Naruhito of Japan on Tuesday proclaimed his enthronement to the world during a ceremony held at the Imperial Palace of Tokyo in the presence of 2,000 guests, including heads of state and dignitaries from some 180 countries.

Naruhito, 59, became the 126th Emperor of Japan on May 1, a day after his father Akihito, 85, abdicated after 30 years on the Chrysanthemum Throne, something not seen in this dynasty for more than two centuries.
