Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry has launched the official website of the 8th Summit of the Americas, which will bring together regional Heads of State and Government in Lima this April.

The site features the event's general program and news, as well as information about the presidential meeting and various forums that will be held within the framework of the summit.

These are: the III CEO Summit of the Americas, the Forum of Civil Society and Social Actors, the Indigenous People Forum, and the 3rd Gathering of the ParlAmericas Open Parliament Network.

Likewise, the website contains information on logistical issues such as accommodation, transportation, visa processing, and accreditation, among others.

The Summit of the Americas process is a mechanism of political consensus and dialogue at the highest level that started in 1994. Periodically, it brings together the continent's Heads of State and Government to agree on common solutions to priority issues.

At this event, the Presidents of the hemisphere will undertake concrete commitments on the topic "Democratic Governance against Corruption."

President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday underlined various leaders have already confirmed their participation in the event.

The 8th Summit of the Americas will take place in Lima on April 13-14, 2018.
