In the framework of the "Peru Regiones: El Sol y el Pisco 2014" tourism business roundtable, negotiations to be conducted between enterprises from the Peruvian Sur Chico (Small South) such as Ica region's Cañete, Lunahuana, Paracas, Ica and Nazca, will increase by 100%, the President of the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur) Jorge Jochamowitz estimated.

On this edition, participating enterprises have introduced new products, considered to be of maximum interest, aimed at travelers from the city of Lima.

“This leads to increasing the negotiated amount to S/.200,000 (about US$63,500), which would mean a growth of 100% taking into account last year sales totaled S/.100,000 (about US$31,750),” he pointed out.

Dynamism to continue

"The said amount must triple in the upcoming months because travelers coming from Lima want to spend a 'nice weekend' in the Sur Chico," the President affirmed.

“There are new products, such as on-sand rides, new condominiums for rent in Paracas, [...] time machines [to 'travel through'] Paracas Pre-Columbian history, new hotels in Lunahuana and airline companies, which offer flights over the Nazca Lines,” he told.

It must be noted the “Peru Regiones: El Sol y el Pisco 2015” aims at increasing the tourism flow into those cities, especially during the low-season.

The event takes place in Lima on June 23.
