Peru creates APEC Multisectoral Group

The Government of Peru has established a Multisectoral Working Group to coordinate and facilitate the organization of activities at the 24th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in the Andean nation.

According to a supreme resolution published in El Peruano official gazette, the group will be a temporary body and will support the preparation, organization and implementation of side effects as well. 

Likewise, it will coordinate with public and private entities making contributions to thematic and organizational issues.

Peru was chosen as host venue for APEC 2016 meetings during the 20th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting held in Vladivostok, Russia.

According to the work agenda and common practices of the forum, Peru should hold the Leaders’ Meeting and several gatherings with ministers, senior officials, working groups, committees, the Business Advisory Council and the Business Summit.

The multisectoral group will be chaired by the Foreign Affairs Ministry and will comprise the Cabinet Chief and Ministers of Economy, Education, Agriculture, Women and Vulnerable Populations and, Foreign Trade.

The resolution stipulates that state ministers have five business days to appoint their corresponding alternate representatives.
