Peru Consul General visits Japan Immigration Services Agency's Commissioner

Peruvian Consul General to Tokyo Alexis Aquino held a work meeting with the Japanese Justice Ministry's Immigration Services Agency Commissioner Shoko Sasaki.

The meeting was aimed at making the necessary coordinations to facilitate the fulfillment of the Consulate's tasks. 

During the gathering, the Inca country's diplomat informed the Commissioner that there are approximately 48,000 Peruvians living in Japan at the present time.

The majority of them reside in Kanagawa, Gunma, Shizuoka, Saitama, and Togichi areas —which are under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in Tokyo—, as well as in Aichi, Mie, Shiga, and Osaka prefectures —which are under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in Nagoya

On her part, Commissioner Sasaki expressed her office's willingness to collaborate with Peruvian authorities, by offering a permanent communication channel with the Peruvian Consulate General in Tokyo, concerning legal provisions or policies that are of interest for the Peruvian community in Japan. 

The meeting took place on September 18 in Tokyo.
