Peru extends its deepest condolences and solidarity to the Government and people of New Zealand over the deplorable shootings at two mosques in Christchurch city.

Likewise, the Inca country expressed its sympathy to the relatives of the victims.

It must be noted the Peruvian Government condemns all forms and manifestations of violence.

In addition, it rejects every action against the values and principles supporting peaceful coexistence.

According to AFP, 49 worshippers were killed and dozens more were wounded after a "right-wing extremist" armed with semi-automatic weapons rampaged through the mosques in the quiet New Zealand city during afternoon prayers Friday.
