Peruvian President Alan Garcia will meet his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales Tuesday in Ilo to discuss bilateral ties and other important issues of common concern.
The two presidents will be welcomed with military honors by local and regional authorities of Moquegua at Ilo's airport.
The national anthems of Bolivia and Peru will be sung during the welcoming ceremony and then the leaders will head to the port terminal of Ilo, where they will sign an Additional Protocol to the Ilo Agreement and other pacts of cooperation and integration between the two countries.
During their stay, the presidents will be honored as Distinguished Visitors and will receive the Keys to the City from Ilo's Mayor Jorge Mendoza Perez.
It was reported that the Peruvian leader will be awarded the Order of the Condor of the Andes while Bolivia's Evo Morales will be presented with the Order of the Sun of Peru. The leaders will also lay a wreath to the monument of Admiral Miguel Grau at Ilo's Capitanía General del Puerto (General Port Captaincy).
Afterwards, Presidents Garcia and Morales will hold a private meeting with Foreign Ministers Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde of Peru and Bolivia's David Choquehuanca as well as the Ambassador of Peru in La Paz, Manuel Rodriguez Cuadros, and Bolivian Ambassador in Lima, Franz Solano.
Later today, the Peruvian and Bolivian leaders will visit the Bolivia beach, located 17 km south of the city of Ilo. They will also visit the Center for Export, Transformation, Industry, Commercialization and Services (Ceticos) and Bolivia's duty-free zone and industrial park in the Peruvian port of Ilo.
