Peru badminton reaches semifinals at Pan American Games

The duo composed of Mario Cuba and Katherine Winder qualified for the badminton's mixed doubles category semifinals and assured at least a bronze medal for Peru in the Pan American Games 2015 currently underway in Toronto, (Canada).

In the quarter-finals, Peru defeated the Cuban team composed of Leo Martinez and Tahimara Oropeza by a 2-0 score (21-12 and 21-11).

Subsequently, the Peruvian duo will face the winner of the match between United States and Dominican Republic.

It must be noted bronze medals are granted to the athletes who finish third and fourth. In this sense, regardless of the next result, the duo has managed to assure two medals in this edition.
