Peru: 2,198 ha of coca eradicated in 19 days

Peruvian Interior Ministry's Special Project for Control and Reduction of Illegal Crops in Alto Huallaga (CORAH) has eradicated 2,198 hectares of coca crops in Ucayali, San Martin, and Pasco regions.

Anti-drug operations were conducted on February 1-19 within the framework of the 2018 Annual Plan for Reduction of Illegal Coca Growing Area —under the National Strategy to Fight Drugs 2017-2021. 

CORAH agents eradicated 1,029.10 ha in Ciudad Constitucion (Pasco), 980.09 ha in Santa Lucia-Tocache (San Martin), and 189.27 ha in Padre Abad-Aguaytia (Ucayali).


Likewise, nine cocaine paste laboratories were destroyed by Peruvian National Police (PNP), which supports CORAH efforts.

It must be noted two of them were located in Padre Abad, Aguaytia, and the other seven in Ciudad Constitucion.

The operations are supported by National Anti-Drug Agency (Dirandro) and Police Aviation Department.
