Peruvian State ad hoc Attorney's Office called for the Prosecutor's Office to include former Odebrecht representative in Peru Jorge Barata and ex-Graña y Montero Chairman Jose Alejandro Graña Miro-Quesada in graft probes.

State attorneys requested that Barata and Graña be investigated as accomplices to corruption offences in light of their role as Lima Tren Electrico (Lima Metro) consortium representatives.

As is known, the said project is currently investigated for alleged irregular practices and crimes against the public administration.

Ad hoc State attorneys also requested the extension of preparatory investigations against former Lima Metro Line 1 Tender Committee officials Mariella Huerta Tejada and Edwin Luyo Barrientos, as well as former Deputy Communications Minister Jorge Cuba.

Huerta remains a fugitive from justice. Luyo and Cuba, on the other hand, are currently held under preventive detention as they face charges for allegedly receiving bribes from the Brazilian construction giant.

Likewise, investigations into other former members of Lima Metro Line 1 Stretch 2 Tender Committee have been requested.
