Multi-sector committee works on Security Plan for Lima 2019

The Multi-sector Commission of Intelligence, National Defense and Citizen Security for Lima 2019 has met to address the security-related matters integral to the Pan American and Para-Pan American Games.


"The institutions that have to watch over security have come together, for the first time this year, to design and outline the execution of the security plans for the Games, which must cover 21 sports venues, the accommodations in the Villas, as well as designated routes and the security of the 1,500 journalists who will be in Lima," stated Alberto Valenzuela, Operations Manager of Lima 2019.

Held at the auditorium of the Peruvian Olympic Committee, the meeting was chaired by Alberto Valenzuela and attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of the Interior, Public Ministry, Ministry of Health, Regional Government of Callao, Municipality of Lima, Peruvian Army, Navy, Air Force and National Police. 

Also in attendance, per invitation by the Peruvian Institute of Nuclear Energy, were international experts Carlos Nogueira de Oliveira, Edgar Medina and Fernando Ciampagna, members of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visiting from Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, respectively.
