Lima 2019: Sport infrastructures valued by international organizations

11:42 | Lima, Aug. 22.

The sport infrastructures built for the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games are valued by international sports federations, Lima 2019 Organizing Committee (COPAL) President Carlos Neuhaus informed Thursday.

In this sense, Neuhaus indicated sport organizations have requested to use the locations as their venues for important competitions.

Those championships will take place throughout 2019 and 2020.

Likewise, Neuhaus affirmed VIDENA's Aquatic Center has all the stipulated conditions for hosting the international events.

"We made the pool in VIDENA, and it is already a hub that was intensively utilized for swimming competitions during the Pan American Games and will remain as legacy, not only for high-level competitions, but also for the creation of academies so children and adults, too, can participate," he added.

Furthermore, the COPAL representative reiterated sport infrastructures will not be privatized. Plus, there is a possibility of bringing experts on sport venues management in order to optimize the use of the buildings.
