Lima 2027: President inspects sports venues for Pan American Games

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte is inspecting the sports venues that will host the 2027 Pan American Games.

Thus, she is paying a visit to the National Sports Village (Videna) located in Lima's San Luis district.

The inspection tour also includes a stop at Andres Avelino Caceres Complex in Lima's peripheral Villa Maria del Triunfo district and at Villa El Salvador Sports Center in the district of the same name.

Route

Joined by Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen at Videna, the Head of State toured the sports facilities that are used for training high-level athletes, such as the aquatic center, the athletics track, the velodrome, and rehabilitation centers, among others.

She was accompanied by Special Legacy Project Executive Director Carlos Zegarra and Peruvian Olympic Committee President Renzo Manyari.

The dignitary noted that it would be a good idea to encourage sports participation of students from educational institutions and universities, within the framework of the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.

She also reiterated the Government's support and commitment to the preparation of the sports facilities, with a view to the organization of the aforementioned Games.

Lima was selected to host the 2027 Pan American Games and Parapan American Games on Tuesday, after prevailing over Asuncion in an election held after the Extraordinary General Assembly of Panam Sports in the U.S. city of Miami.

This will be the second time that Peru will host the highest level sporting competition in the region after having previously done it in 2019.
