Energía Eólica announced it will begin next year the construction of two wind parks, in Talara (Piura) and northern Trujillo (La Libertad), which will demand a 370 million dollar investment, reported its general manager, Juan Coronado.

He said the Talara's eolic park will have a 30 megawatts of new capacity projected, while the one in Trujillo will have 80, both should start operations in June 2012.

Coronado said prices of eolic energy are under those of other kinds of energy such as those that come from diesel and a little over the prices of natural gas energy.

“We expect that this kind of energy won't have un upward impact on the annual tariff (to consumer), but the opposite," he said.

He stated energy produced by Energía Eólica will range from 85 to 65 dollars per megawatt hour.

“The eolic energy won't rise energy prices in Peru,", Coronado enphasized.
