Foreign Affairs Minister Mario Lopez on Tuesday announced that his sector is working hard, through agreements with State entities, so that Peruvian nationals residing in the country or abroad can request consular procedures online.
"Our compatriots will no longer have to visit our facilities. They will be able to request the procedures they need online, through our consular network," he said in remarks to Andina news agency.
In this context, Mr. Lopez explained that his office has signed agreements with the National Superintendence of Public Registries (SUNARP) and the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (RENIEC).
"It is a goal that we have set for July," the government official expressed.
The Cabinet member affirmed that his office would move forward to increase the number of online procedures and, thus, benefit the Peruvian population.
Additionally, he noted the Peruvian Government's efforts in
the repatriation and assistance process of compatriots abroad.
Finally, the minister said that
his sector is working on some projects linked to the preferential treatment of Peruvians overseas.
