Peru's Defense Minister Walter Martos supervised the deployment of Peruvian Navy units during the Training Exercise along the Coast (VILIT 2020), aimed at improving the training of staffs and interoperability among vessels.

During the practice, naval units lined up in different formations and carried out effective tactical maneuvers in the sea, which were witnessed by authorities on board BAP Tacna.

For this training, the Navy deployed BAP Santillana, BAP Herrera, BAP Larrea, BAP Ferre, BAP Palacios, BAP Bolognesi, and BAP Tacna itself.

Crew

The exercise saw the participation of 1,000 crew members, including officers, naval cadets, technical personnel, and sailors.

The ships participating at VILIT 2020 set sail on January 7 from the port of Callao with 115 Naval Academy cadets in order to improve their pre-professional capacities and sailing skills.

During the monitoring, Martos was joined by Navy Commander General Fernando Cerdan.
