The People's Republic of China has made a donation of US$1.5 million to Peru for relief efforts in favor of natural disaster victims, Chinese Ambassador to Lima Jia Guide announced.

Remarks were made during a gathering between Mr. Guide and Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski at Lima-based Government Palace on Monday morning.

The mentioned donation is aimed at supporting the country's efforts to tackle emergencies recently caused by the onslaught of nature, such as heavy rains and floods that have left thousands of citizens homeless.

Likewise, the contribution will be allocated for the reconstruction of affected regions, especially northern areas.
