Casa Peru in Moscow welcomes over 6,000 visitors on first day

00:00 | Moscow (Russia), Jun. 20.

More than 6,000 people visited Moscow-based Casa Peru on its opening day, the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) informed.

Launched by Peru's country brand (Marca Peru), this platform aims at promoting the Inca nation's wonders in Russia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Thus, foreign and domestic tourists had the opportunity to enjoy Peru's flagship dish ceviche, as well as pisco-based cocktails, among other typical products such as quinoa and specialty coffees.

In this sense, national chefs were in charge of putting Peruvian gastronomy in the spotlight.

Casa Peru in Moscow brings together the best exportable offer from the South American nation's coast, highlands, and jungle. It features art exhibitions, traditional dances, among other cultural activities.

This strategy is led by PromPeru in partnership with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Culture Ministry, and Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex), as well as several regional governments.

As part of promotion efforts, Casa Peru also has a trailer that will visit Ekaterinburg and Sochi, cities where the national soccer team will play its next two matches. It must be noted this vehicle has already visited Moscow and Saransk.

The initiative's main aim is to persuade tourists and locals attending soccer's mega event to become "red-white fans" and cheer the Incas on, as well as travel to the Andean country in the near future.

Casa Peru in Moscow will run thru June 28 at Manege Exhibition Center, near Moscow's Red Square.
