2019 Dakar Rally consolidates Peru's brand positioning

The 2019 Dakar Rally enabled the Inca country to position its Marca Peru (Peru Brand) through transmissions broadcasted by media outlets across the world, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez has affirmed.

It should be noted the nation's interest in taking part in this event was due to the significant benefits it gained in 2018. 

"I would like to congratulate all Dakar Rally racers, especially the Peruvian representatives, for their great effort, as well as the national, regional, and local government's multisectoral work," the official expressed. 

"Peru is prepared for events of great significance, and this competition is proof of that," he added. 

Benefits

In this sense, Minister Vasquez indicated the Inca country was the big winner of the 2019 Dakar Rally since it showed its landscapes, gastronomy, traditions, and citizens' hospitality. 

The minister also highlighted the attention it received from national, international, and social media throughout the event.

As is known, the 41st edition of the Dakar Rally took place entirely in Peru on January 6-17

Over 500 drivers and co-drivers participated in the race. Stage cities included Lima, Pisco, San Juan de Marcona, Arequipa, Moquegua, and Tacna.
