A total of 1,200 businessmen engaged in trade and small and medium-sized enterprises will meet in Lima for the 8th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) SME Summit 2015, Foreign Trade Association (ComexPeru) General Manager Jessica Luna informed.

She noted that thanks to an agreement with Peru’s Tourism and Export Promotion Board (Promperu) the event will be broadcast live in eight regions across the country including Cusco, La Libertad and Ayacucho.

Participants

"According to attendance figures for the past few years, between 1,000 to 1,200 people have gathered since its first edition in 2008; we hope to continue along this path, because we all should support entrepreneurs and SMEs in order to give them useful tools for their activities," she stated.

Luna said a 50-businessman delegation from Arequipa has confirmed its participation in the event, and foresees that over 800 entrepreneurs will watch live presentations across the country.

The eighth edition of the APEC SME Summit will take place August 18th at a hotel in San Isidro district, Lima.

Production Minister Piero Ghezzi will speak about the National Plan for Productive Diversification (PNDP). Director of the Executive Education Center at Universidad del Pacifico (Lima, Peru), Juan Carlos Mathews, will also give a speech.
