President Dina Boluarte on Thursday traveled to the city of Tarapoto, San Martin region, to lead the actions being carried out in response to forest fires.

The Head of State was accompanied by Defense Minister Walter Astudillo on this occasion.

Previously, Mrs. Boluarte supervised the operations of Air Groups No. 3 and 8 of the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) at the Command Post of Air Wing No. 2 in Callao region, where the systems used by aircraft to control forest fires are monitored.

The measure will facilitate the implementation of measures and actions, both immediate and necessary, as well as the response and rehabilitation actions required to address the emergency.

The regional and local governments covered by the regulation —with the technical coordination and monitoring of the National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci) and the participation of ministries, as well as other public and private institutions involved— will implement the exceptional, immediate, and necessary measures and actions for the response and rehabilitation of the affected areas.
