Peru receives OECD invitation to start accession process

Peru received the invitation from the Council of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to start the process of accession to this institution, Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua reported on Tuesday.

Via Twitter, the Cabinet member indicated that the decision was made by consensus of the 38 current members.

Likewise, Ambassador Maurtua stressed that this is a historic event for the South American country, as the OECD recognizes the efforts made over years to implement the standards and good practices required by this institution.

In addition, the diplomat indicated that Peru's entry into the OECD will directly benefit its citizens.
