Peru: President leads Changing of Guard ceremony

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Sunday presided over the traditional "Changing of the Guard" ceremony.

The event featured Mariscal Domingo Nieto Cavalry Regiment Escort.

During the activity, the Head of State was accompanied by the First Lady of the Nation Lilia Paredes and their children.

The ceremony took place at the Honor Courtyard of the Government Palace.

On Saturday, the top dignitary handed over a document to the head of the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP), Renzo Manyari, in which the Government renders the necessary guarantees and expresses its commitment to support Ayacucho region in its quest to become the venue for the 2024 Bolivarian Games.

The letter was addressed to Baltazar Medina, President of the Bolivarian Sports Organization (ODEBO) and the Colombian Olympic Committee. The ODEBO coordinates the realization and development of the aforementioned sporting event.
