announced that, for this year, his portfolio has ordered that eradication operations be intensified in illegal coca leaf cultivation zones.
Within this framework,
Minister Ortiz highlighted the committed work carried out by Corah's personnel in the fight against drug trafficking in Peru.
"The Corah Special Project is one of the key axes in the fight against drugs. Throughout its institutional and operational history, it has eradicated more than 420,000 hectares of coca leaf crops in the country, especially in jungle regions," he stated.
Ortiz stressed that the fulfilled objectives are thanks to joint work with the Interior Ministry's General Directorate against Organized Crime and the Peruvian National Police (PNP), through the Anti-Drug Directorate (Dirandro).
This event saw the participation of Deputy Domestic Order Minister Juan Jose Santivañez Antunez; PNP General Commander Lieutenant General Victor Zanabria; and Corah Special Project Director Clever Vidal.
It was also attended by: General Director against Organized Crime Mario Accinelli; U.S. Embassy's INL Director Glenn Tosten; and Devida General Manager Martin Villafuerte; among other authorities.
