President Dina Boluarte on Thursday stated that the Executive Branch traveled to Ucayali, San Martin, and Amazonas regions to address the emergencies generated by forest fires in this part of Peru.

"We have been deployed nationwide to respond to fire emergencies. I will never get tired of urging those who cause fires to reflect, as they not only harm families, individuals, and wildlife, but also Peru," she stated.

The top official indicated that the resources allocated to address forest fires can be used to build more hospitals, bridges, and foster development for all Peruvians.

"Let's not play with fire, it's dangerous. We will continue to serve not only the three regions but nationwide," she noted.

The top official said the Executive Branch has been acting since early to extinguish forest fires.

In Tarapoto, Mrs. Boluarte met with local authorities to receive information on the actions being taken in response to the emergency.

She explained that two helicopters, equipped with the Bambi Bucket system, with a capacity for 3,000 liters of water, entered the Pajarillo area.

"Until 6 p.m., each helicopter will make 12 trips to the area, with 3,000 liters per trip, and with that, we hope to help respond to emergencies," Mrs. Boluarte pointed out.

"We are deploying the logistics we have; with everything we have, we are addressing it (the emergency)," she added.

Ucayali, San Martín, and Amazonas regions have been declared in state of emergency for a 60-day period to facilitate the authorities in taking the necessary actions to control forest fires.

It will also enable donations to be transferred to assist the affected population.
