Peru: President Boluarte flies over Amazonas zone affected by fires

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday flew over the part of Amazonas region where forest fires have been reported.

The Head of State inspected the damage caused by these events in order to arrange for the strengthening of necessary actions to confront the spread of the fire.

On the helicopter, the top official was accompanied by Jaen city authorities, TVPeru reported.

The fires occurring in various parts of Peru are being addressed by the central government, with support from regional and local governments, the Armed Forces, and the Volunteer Fire Department.

Aid to departments

During the weekend, President Boluarte arranged for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the localities affected by these events.

In addition to Amazonas, the fires are affecting towns in Madre de Dios, Pasco, Lambayeque, San Martin, and Piura regions.
