aims to generate more than 138,000 temporary jobs nationwide by December of this year, with an investment exceeding S/527 million (about US$139.7 million) in 2,600 interventions.
"We will allocate this budget because we know that every Peruvian Sol that reaches women and men is 100% utilized for the benefit of their families; that means generating employment, as well as inclusion and greater opportunities," she said.
The Head of State underscored the coordinated work of the national government with local and regional authorities to generate temporary employment through this program, which offers opportunities to all Peruvians, without discrimination.
"That is the working formula we must have: dialogue, coordination, and effort, side by side, heart to heart, to achieve the objective transparently. We took office in December 2022 with clean hands, and we will leave in 2026 with clean hands, our hearts held high, and our heads held high," she expressed.
Within this framework, the top official indicated that this program generated 6,000 temporary jobs in this northern region through 115 interventions funded with S/23 million (about US$6.1 million), benefiting single mothers, people with disabilities, and Peruvians who need it most.
Citizen security
The president stated that the government will continue to strengthen responsible efforts for citizen security.
Similarly, the top official called on the Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary not to release criminals captured by the police.
"We are going to fight fiercely against criminals, but we also call on the Public Ministry (Prosecutor's Office), in this coordinated effort as good Peruvians, not to release the thieves handed over by the police, not to let them go; it's not all of them; there are some bad judges and some bad prosecutors who are not standing up for Peru," she expressed.
The top official underlined that Peruvians need streets without criminals, extortionists, and murderers.
Low inflation
The president assured that, unlike the Peru she inherited —which had a deficit, no public works, no schools, a rising U.S. dollar price, and a shortage of products— housewives can now go to the market with peace of mind to buy products at stable prices.
"What we buy today will cost the same tomorrow because there is no inflation; we have the lowest inflation in the region, and we will continue working to improve the economy," she said.
Lastly, the president called for peace and unity among all Peruvians to attract greater investments and to allocate a higher budget to programs such as
Llamkasun Peru, which generates temporary employment for fellow citizens in vulnerable situations.
