Peru's BCR: Traditional exports up 3.3% in 1Q 2024

Traditional exports totaled US$11.962 billion during the first quarter of this year, a 3.3% rise compared to the same period in 2023, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) has reported.

This result was due to higher shipments of coffee, copper, and gold, as well as oil and its derivatives.

Total exports amounted to US$16.384 billion in the first three months of 2024, a 0.9% increase over the same period in 2023.

From January to March 2024, the higher shipped volume stood out, which experienced a 1% growth compared to the same period in 2023.

Farming exports expanded 59.6% during the first quarter of 2024.

In turn, mining product shipments increased 8%.

Lastly, exports of petroleum products and their derivatives rose 2%.
