Hundreds of people gathered on El Pino Hill, in Lima's La Victoria district on Friday, to take part in the re-enactment of the Way of the Cross —an event held for the second consecutive year as part of Holy Week religious celebrations.
The 14 Stations of Jesus Christ's Passion and Death were portrayed by actor Rafael Rivera —who has reenacted Jesus for over two decades— accompanied by members of the Crepusculo cultural group, which is dedicated to theater and music.
The re-enactment unfolded along the hillside and concluded at the summit, where the crucifixion on Mount Calvary was portrayed.
From early morning, local families and visitors joined the procession, actively taking part in each station.
This event was organized by El Pino Hill residents, with support from La Victoria Municipality, which reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting this expression of faith and popular culture, officially recognized through a Municipal Council resolution.
