Peru: President and Ministers assess measures during state of emergency

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte along with State ministers and representatives from the Armed Forces and National Police, discussed the measures taken during the state of emergency in Lima Metropolitan Area and Callao region to address criminality.

The meeting was attended by Ministers Walter Astudillo (Defense), Juan Jose Santivañez (Interior), Eduardo Arana (Justice and Human Rights), and Jose Salardi (Economy and Finance).

Last Wednesday, the Head of State established the War Room against crime, as part of the state of emergency currently in force in Lima and Callao for a 30-day period.

Through the War Room, the Head of State will receive daily reports and coordinate citizen security actions nationwide.

It will remain active 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will report on arrests and operations carried out daily against crime.
