A total of 34 archaeological items belonging to the Cultural Heritage of the Nation were received by the
after being voluntarily handed over by the Bjorck family.
The pieces originated from the Cajamarca, Chancay, Huaura, and Nazca cultures and represent a valuable testimony of our pre-Hispanic heritage, as well as a source of pride for Peruvians.
As of today, the consular mission continues carrying out the respective arrangements for the repatriation of the cultural assets to Peru.
It is worth mentioning that
a presentation of the pieces is planned in an exhibition to be held at the Providence Public Library on July 23, as part of Peru's Independence Day celebrations.
The initiative is supported by said institution and the Andean Cultural Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
