Peru's Ambassador presents credentials to Finland's President

Diplomat Jorge Renato Reyes Tagle presented to Finnish President Alexander Stubb the letters of credence accrediting him as Peru's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to said country.

The ceremony was held recently at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.

Following the event, Ambassador Reyes Tagle held a private meeting with the Finnish Head of State, during which they addressed the main issues of the bilateral relationship.

Both reaffirmed the shared values of Peru and Finland, including the defense of the rule of law, multilateralism, the rules-based international system, and democracy.

During the meeting, the Peruvian diplomat highlighted the stability of the country's economy, underscoring its solid macroeconomic model.

Likewise, the ambassador said there are broad opportunities for Finnish companies to invest in Peru.

In this context, he renewed the Peruvian government's invitation for President Stubb to visit the South American country, an occasion on which he could be accompanied by other authorities and investors from the Nordic nation.

In turn, the Finnish President expressed his nation's support for Peru's accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Currently, bilateral trade exceeds US$297 million. To date, more than 70 Finnish companies do business in our country.
