Peru holds the second place in South America for median download speed, standing at 58.4 Mbps above the regional average, according to the Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel).

The median fixed internet speed in Peru, for both download and upload, continued to show notable improvements during the first four months of 2025, according to data from the latest report by Ookla (a global company specializing in testing, data analysis, and internet performance).

Osiptel reported that the median download speed reached 206.5 Mbps (megabits per second) in April 2025, marking a 44% increase compared to the same period last year.

This growth consolidated Peru's position as one of the regional leaders in fixed internet speed.

Additionally, according to the April 2025 data report, the median upload speed of fixed internet reached 177.2 Mbps, an improvement of over 100% compared to April 2024.
